It's an irrefutable point, truly. If Bush hadn't gotten us into the most ill-conceived, unjustified, deficit-ballooning disaster of a war in America's history, we wouldn't be declaring an end to combat operations tonight. I'm just surprised that the GOP wants to draw attention to their own responsibility.
On FOX, Hannity and McCain are lambasting the President for his lack of generosity to Bush in his speech. WTF. It's like these people inhabit an alternate reality.
Added: they also slammed him for not declaring us the winners in Iraq. You know, because it was such an awesome success. Maybe he should have done a victory lap, or thrown a ticker-tape parade. Or, here's a thought, he could have had a giant "Mission Accomplished" banner made up.
